Hong Xin is a Ph.D. student at Anhui Normal University in China and also works at the Gesneriad Conservation Center of China (GCCC), which is supported by The Gesneriad Society. He recently attended the Gesneriad Society Convention in Nashville on a Gesneriad Society Student Grant and presented a talk on his research into the pollination and conservation of gesneriads. Hong Xin has now undertaken a trip around the United States which includes scheduled visits to the the Smithsonian Institution, the Clark Lab at the University of Alabama, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University in Philadelphia, the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard University, the 2014 Botany Conference in Boise, Idaho, the California Academy of Science, and the New York Botanical Garden.
