Primulina ‘CW’s Purple Dream’

Primulina ‘CW’s Purple Dream’, 2023, IR231842, hybridized by Wei-Chuen Chou, Yi-Gang Wei, Fang Wen; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. sp. nov. x P. tribracteata). Cross made 04.19.2019, seeds planted 07.23.2019, first flowering 04.17.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, ca. 6 cm long, ca. 5 cm wide, 2-4 cm petiole, with obvious veins, blades thick, fleshy, puberulent both surfaces, blade orbicular, rounded tip, cordate base, repand (slightly crenate) margin, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, greenish brown, ca. 8 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 3 cm, ca. 8 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3 cm long, ca. 2 cm wide, corolla purple with yellow honey guides and purple stripes inside. Prefers brightly scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not overfertilize and overwater.
