Primulina ‘CW’s Spring Dream’
Primulina ‘CW’s Spring Dream’, 2023, IR231833, hybridized by Zi-Meng Yang, Wei-Chuen Chou, Fang Wen; Guilin University of Technology; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. macrorhiza x P. qintangensis). Cross made 04.09.2019, seeds planted 07.23.2019, first flowering 03.31.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green to dark green with silvery main vein, ca. 12 cm long, 2-6 cm wide, 2-4 cm petiole, thick, fleshy, margin inconspicuously serrate, elliptic, acute tip, cuneate base, smooth. Calyx split, green, ca. 10 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 3.3 cm, ca. 5 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3.5 cm long, 2-2.5 cm wide, whitish purple to pale purple, with bright yellow honey guide. Prefers brightly scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not overfertilize and overwater.
