Primulina ‘Fairytale Spring’

Primulina ‘Fairytale Spring’, 2021, IR211595, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Dayan Tao, Qian Song, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. macrorhiza x (P. liguliformis x P. brachytricha var.brachytricha)). Cross made 04.13.2019, seeds planted 06.21.2019, first flowering 02.25.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 11.0-12.2 cm long, 7.3-8.8 cm wide, 6.1-8.7 cm petiole, elliptic, with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 0.8-1.2 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.4-3.0 cm, 12-20 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 5.6-6.0 cm long x 1.6-1.7 cm wide, purple. The plants have three bracts. Needs bright scattered light and high air humidity. Avoid waterlogging.
