Primulina ‘GCCC’s Muscular Barbie’

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Muscular Barbie’, 2021, IR211682, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. densa sp. nov. x P. heterochroa). Cross made 07.29.2018, seeds planted 09.20.2018, first flowering 08.10.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 1-3 cm. The abaxial surface of leaf blade dark green, the adaxial surface of leaf blade usually pale purple but main vein green, 5-7 cm long, 2.5-3 cm wide, subsessile to 1-3 cm petiole, linear with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, smooth. Calyx split, reddish purple ca. 5 mm. Length of the pedicel 2.5-3 cm, 2-3, sometimes 5 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 2 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, reddish purple with unsharp dark purple stripes. Small to very small plant size. Prefers bright scattered natural light, but can stand strong sunlight; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); don’t overfertilize and overwater.
