Primulina ‘GCCC’s Muscular Elf’

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Muscular Elf’, 2021, IR211671, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei, Long-Fei Fu; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. spinulosa x unknown (open pollination)). Seeds collected 08.21.2018, seeds planted 09.20.2018, first flowering 07.10.2020. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 1 cm or longer after long growth. Leaves dark green, 4-6 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, 1-2 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, smooth. Calyx split, pale green, ca. 3 mm. Length of the pedicel 1-1.5 cm, 5-10 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 1.5 cm long, 0.8-1.1 cm wide, purple with reddish brown plaque between two lobes of upper lip. Small plant size. Prefers bright scattered natural light but can stand stronger direct sunlight; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); don’t overfertilize and overwater.
