Primulina ‘GCCC’s Purple Breeze’

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Purple Breeze’, 2021, IR211669, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei, Zi-Bing Xin; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. beiliuensis var. fimbribracteata x P. ronganensis). Cross made 04.16.2018, seeds planted 09.20.2018, first flowering 04.21.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 1.5-3 cm or longer. Leaves dark green, 8-10 cm long, 6-7.5 cm wide, 7-10 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, smooth. Calyx split, pale green, ca. 7 mm. Length of the pedicel 1-1.5 cm, 10-16 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3.5 cm long, ca. 1.8 cm wide, elegant purple, throat with dark purple stripes. Large plant size. Prefers bright scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); don’t overfertilize and overwater.
