Primulina ‘GCCC’s Silky Red’

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Silky Red’, 2020, IR201488, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei, Yu-Zhen Ge, Guilin, China. (P. baishouensis   x  P. sp. unknown, probably seed or vegetative mutation of P.baishouensis). Cross made around Apr.2017, seeds planted around Jun. 2017, first flowered 04.11.2018. Fertile. Basal rosette.  Leaves green, thick, fleshy, pubescent hair both surfaces, 6.5-8.5 cm long, 4-5.5 cm wide, 7-11.5 cm long petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, crenate margin and acute tip, hairy. Calyx spit, reddish green, ca. 1 cm long. Pedicel ca. 2 cm long with 6-10 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca 5 cm long, ca 3 cm wide, silky red to dark pinkish red. Prefers bright scattered natural light, moist but well drained calcium rich substrate (pH equal or above 7), do not overfertilize.
