Primulina ‘Luxury’

PrimulinaLuxury’, 2020, IR201544, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Qian Song, Shuming Luo, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. guigangensis x P. dryas). Cross made 08.16.2019, seeds planted 09.28.2019, first flowering 09.23.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 8.2-11.8 cm long, 6.3-7.8 cm wide, 3.9-7.3 cm petiole, ovate, with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin. Calyx split, light brown, 0.6-0.8 cm. Length of the pedicel 2.9-3.4 cm, 6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.6-4.0 cm long x 1.2-1.3 cm wide, dark purple. Flowering period is from September to November. Cultivation is easy. The plants have a high tolerance to heat. The potting medium must be loose, providing plenty of air permeability.  Waterlogging is to be avoided. They like bright, scattered light.
