Primulina ‘Purple Robe’

Primulina ‘Purple Robe’, 2021, IR211624, hybridized by Dayan Tao, Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Shuming Luo; Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. gueilinensis  x  P. baishouensis). Cross made 03.27.2019, seeds planted 04.25.2019, first flowering 02.21.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves dark green, 12.8-15.4 cm long, 6.6-9.2 cm wide, 11.2-12.7 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 0.7-1.1 cm. Length of the pedicel 2.7-3.2 cm, 6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 5.7-6.8 cm long x 1.5-1.9 cm wide, purplish to purple. Flowering period: February to March. It has no tolerance of direct sunlight and need bright but scattered light.
