Primulina ‘Yuyang’s Early Winter’

Primulina ‘Yuyang’s Early Winter’, 2021, IR211698, hybridized by Yuyang Lei, Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Kai Li, Shuming Luo; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Nanning, China. (P. leiyyi x P. sinovietnamica). Cross made 09.28.2020, seeds planted 01.14.2021, first flowering 11.03.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 8.6-11.0 cm long, 3.8-4.2 cm wide 1.5-2.6 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, brown, 5-6 mm. Length of the pedicel 2.5-3.0 cm, 5-10 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.4-3.5 cm long, 2.0-2.3 cm wide, purple, with light veins. The plant requires strong light. It has strong tolerance to drought stress.
