Primulina ‘Zhou’s Golden Time’

Primulina ‘Zhou’s Golden Time’, 2021, IR211645, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou, Long-Fei Fu; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. villosissima x P. heterochroa). Cross made 04.14.2019, seeds planted 11.11.2019, first flowering 06.17.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca.1 cm. Leaves green with indistinct pale greenish-yellow main and lateral veins forming white net; slightly fleshy, both surfaces pubescent, 10-15 cm long, 7-8 cm wide, 5-6 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, rounded tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, purplish green, ca. 1 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2 cm, 4 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3-4 cm long, ca. 2.5 cm wide, golden yellow with brownish red spots between lobes of upper lip, and dark brownish red lines inside. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater. Sensitive to cold.
