Primulina ‘Zhou’s Neon Lamp’

Primulina ‘Zhou’s Neon Lamp’, 2021, IR211648, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. leprosa x P. carinata). Cross made 09.25.2019, seeds planted 11.11.2019, first flowering 10.14.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 1.5 cm. Leaves green slightly fleshy, both surfaces nearly glabrous, ca.10 cm or longer, 7-8.5 cm wide, 4-6 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, nearly entire margin, smooth. Calyx split, pale green, ca. 1.2 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2 cm, usually 6, sometimes more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3.5 cm long, ca. 2.5 cm wide, of complex color: lobes apex orange, lobes pale purple, corolla inside yellow and red stripes. Large size plant. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater, sensitive to cold.
