Primulina ‘Zhou’s Purple Cloud’

Primulina ‘Zhou’s Purple Cloud’, 2021, IR211657, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. hunanensis  P. liujiangensis). Cross made 04.21.2019, seeds planted 11.11.2019, first flowering 04.19.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 2 cm. Leaves green with silvery veins forming obvious nets, 6-7 cm long, 5-5.5 cm wide, 4-5 cm petiole, orbicular with cordate base, rounded tip, crenate margin, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, purplish red, ca. 10 mm. Length of the pedicel 0.8-1.2 cm, 2-6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.0-3.5 cm long, ca. 2.5 cm wide, vivid purplish red, corolla tube reddish purple, throat pale purple with two brownish red stripes. Medium to large plant size. Prefers bright scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); don’t overfertilize and overwater.
