Primulina ‘Zhou’s Silvery Fox’

Primulina ‘Zhou’s Silvery Fox’, 2021, IR211652, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. subrhomboidea ‘Star Sand’ x P. jiuwanshanica). Cross made 04.20.2019, seeds planted 11.11.2019, first flowering 04.19.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 1 cm. Leaves grayish green, full of silvery particles on the abaxial surfaces of leaves, look similar to bright sands/stars in the dark night-sky, 7-8 cm long, 5-6 cm wide, 2-5 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate to oblique base, acute tip, serrate margin, smooth. Calyx split, brownish green, ca. 8 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 1.5 cm, 2-4 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 2.0 cm long, ca. 1.4 cm wide, pale purple with yellow shading, throat having two brightly yellow stripes inside. Mid-size plant. Prefers brightly scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater, sensitive to cold.
