Primulina ‘Zhou’s Stork Tower’

Primulina ‘Zhou’s Stork Tower’, 2021, IR211650, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou, Yi-Gang Wei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. yangshuoensis x P. carinata). Cross made 06.14.2019, seeds planted 11.11.2019, first flowering 07.08.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 0.5 cm. Leaves green, slightly fleshy, both surfaces densely long pubescent, 2-3 cm long, 1.6-2.5 cm wide, 1-1.5 cm petiole, orbicular with cordate base, acute tip, entire margin, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, brownish green, ca. 5 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 1.5 cm, 1-2, rarely 3 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 2.5 cm long, ca. 1.5 cm wide, pale purple to whitish purple with purple and yellow stripes inside. Plant on a small side. Prefers brightly scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater, sensitive to cold.
