Primulina ‘Blue Swan’

Primulina ‘Blue Swan’, 2022, IR221720, hybridized by Wendi Yu, Guiyun Jiang , Yixun Yu, Juanxu Liu; South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. (P. qintangensis x P. leiophylla). Cross made 03.20.2021, seeds planted 04.30.2021, first flowering 03.30.2022. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white silvery veins, 8.5-12.0 cm long, 5.5-8.5 cm wide, 1.2-2.0 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, smooth. Calyx split, yellow-green, 5-6 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.8-6.2 cm, 3 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 5.1-5.3 cm long, 1.0-1.1 cm wide, blue violet. This hybrid grows best in shady conditions, can’t tolerate direct sunlight, temperature range is 0-35℃.
