Primulina ‘Initial Heart’

Primulina ‘Initial Heart’, 2022, IR221763, hybridized by Ling-Pu Kong, Chuan Ye, Xue-Ling Ouyang, Huo-Hui Peng, Yu-Fu Peng; Jiangxi Institute of Economic Crops, Nanchang, China. (P. liujiangensis × P. tenuituba). Cross made 05.06.2021, seeds planted 08.05.2021, first flowering 06.02.2022. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 2 cm. Leaves green with silvery veins forming obvious nets, 5-6 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, 2-5 cm petiole, ovate to orbicular with cordate base, rounded tip, crenate margin, hairy. The scape is very short, 0.5-1cm. Calyx split, green, ca. 10 mm. Length of the pedicel 0.5-1.0 cm, 1-2 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.0-3.5 cm long corolla, 2.0-2.5 cm orifice, light blue. Corolla tube white, throat pale purple with two yellow stripes. It prefers bright scattered natural light in the temperature range of 0-38℃, moist but well-drained substrate.
