Primulina ‘Long Sword’

Primulina ‘Long Sword’, 2022, IR221731, hybridized by Dingjiao Lan; Laibin, Guangxi, China. (P. macrorhiza complex x self). Cross made 03.20.2020, seeds planted 05.01.2020, first flowering 03.12.2022. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves dark green with silver veins, 6.0-12.0 cm long, 1.2-2.0 cm wide, 1.2-2.8 cm petiole, linear with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 8-10 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2.2 cm, 3-5 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 5.8-6.0 cm long, 1.5-1.6 cm wide, purple. Compact plant with big flowers, the leaves are linear and there are silver veins on them. This hybrid grows best in shady conditions, can’t tolerate direct sunlight, temperature range is 0-35℃.
