Primulina ‘POP Corn’

Primulina ‘POP Corn’, 2022, IR221730, hybridized by Le Luo, Dong He, Meng Bai, Bo Li, Qixiang Zhang; School of Landscape Architecture, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing, China. (P. pungentisepala x P. medica). Cross made 01.2019, seeds planted 05.2019, first flowering 02.2021. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, white puberulent to pilose, 14.1-15.4 cm long, 7.1-8.2 cm wide, 1.5-3 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, peak green, 7-8 mm. Length of the pedicel 0.9-1.0 cm, 8-18 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.3-3.5 cm long, 2.3-3.4 cm wide, pinkish white to pure white. The flowering period lasts from January to March, plant has strong shade tolerance. At its peak the plants explode by a multitude of white blossoms on the strong bloomstalks.
