xPrimucodon ‘Yellow Crane Tower’

xPrimucodon ‘Yellow Crane Tower’, 2021, IR211640, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; Wei-Chuen Chou; Guangxi Institute of Botany, CAS; Guilin, China. (Petrocodon longitubus x Primulina hochiensis var. ochroleuca). Cross made 07.25.2020, seeds planted 09.30.2020, first flowering 08.03.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves adaxial surface pale to yellowish green with broad white main vein, thick, fleshy, pubescent both surfaces, 3.5-5.5 cm long, 2.5-3.0 cm wide, 3.5-4.5 cm petiole, ovate to orbicular with cuneate base, rounded tip, entire to crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, brownish green to pale-purplish green, 5-8 mm. Length of the pedicel ca.1 mm, 1 to 5 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 2.5-2.8 cm long, ca. 5 mm wide in a middle of a corolla tube, pale yellow with pale purple shading, and two brightly yellow honey-guides. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater.
