Primulina ‘Starry Sky’
Primulina ‘Starry Sky’, 2023, IR231890, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Jinye Zhou, Dayan Tao; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Nanning, China. (P. sp. x P. lutea). Cross made 07.15.2019, seeds planted 08.20.2019, first flowering 03.09.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves upper surface is green and the lower vivid amaranth, 8.5-11.4 cm long, 6.1-7.8 cm wide, 3.4-7.2 cm petiole, ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light brown, 9-13 mm. Length of the pedicel 3.5-4.1 cm, 12 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.1-4.6 cm long, 1.3-1.6 cm wide, light yellow. The plants require bright scattered sunlight, can withstand a degree of drought. The medium must be loose, of no heavy texture, without danger of waterlogging.
