Join or Renew Your Membership

Membership in our international society includes quarterly issues of  Gesneriads – The Journal for Gesneriad Growers, a copy of How to Know and Grow Gesneriads, a packet of gesneriad seeds and wealth of information about our Chapters, Flower Shows, Publications, Gesneriad Resources and Seed Fund.

There are three classes of membership:

Individual: This class is for one person at one address and entitles the member to all the benefits described above.

Household: This class is for all members of a household who live at the same address, with the benefits described above. However, only one copy of Gesneriads will be delivered to the address and only those members whose names are provided to the Membership Secretary will be able to vote.

Individual Life: Life Membership is available to individuals only and entitles the member to all the benefits described above. A Life Membership cannot be transferred.

The Green Delivery Option (see sidebar) is available for Individual and Household members. Life members should contact the Membership Secretary to inquire about this option. If this delivery option is chosen, the journal Gesneriads will be delivered electronically via a high-quality PDF.

Institutions, libraries, chapters, clubs, affiliates and other organizations can obtain a Journal Subscription and receive quarterly issues of Gesneriads. A subscription to the journal does not include a vote in Society matters or any other membership benefits.

To Renew Your Membership or Apply for a New Membership

To apply by mail: Complete the printed version of the membership application (opens in new window).  Make checks or money orders payable to The Gesneriad Society, Inc. (in US$ on a US bank) and submit completed application form with payment to:

Membership Options

The Green Delivery Option reduces the Society’s dependency on paper and gives you access to the journal as soon as it is put into the postal mail system – you are notified via email and are linked to the high-resolution PDF copy.

In addition to immediate access to the published journal, the membership dues associated with this delivery method are reduced from the standard rates for the individual and household categories.

Both members inside and outside the United States save money with this option. If you choose the three-year membership term, members in the United States save $15 over the postal rate for the same membership term, and members outside the United States save $30.

Giving a Gift Membership is the perfect way to introduce a friend or family member to the world of genseriads.

After you have selected the membership level and delivery method (postal mail or the green option) you will be taken to the PayPal payment screen. If you choose to pay by PayPal, make sure you click on Add special instructions to the seller  (just beneath the shipping address). A box will open in which you may enter the name, address and email of the gift recipient.

If you choose to pay by credit card, click on Add special instructions to the seller at the bottom of the credit card window.  Some browsers and devices may display these options slightly differently.  However, just look for the Add special instructions to the seller text so that you can include the gift recipient’s name and postal and email addresses.
