The Gesneriad Hybridizers Association (GHA) was founded in 1978 and is an interest group of The Gesneriad Society.

The focus of GHA is hybridizing gesneriads and sharing information about hybridizing in the group’s newsletter, CrossWords, which is published three times a year and contains articles of interest to gesneriad hybridizers. CrossWords is available to GHA members as a full-color PDF attachment sent via email, or it can be sent via postal mail. In addition, members can access back issues using a PW provided to members (coming soon).

Another membership benefit is the GHA seed fund. The list of hybrid seeds is published in the first issue of CrossWords each year. Seeds from the seed fund are available free to members only.

GHA meets once a year at The Gesneriad Society convention to conduct business and present a program, accompanied by slides and PowerPoint presentations. Hybridizers discuss recent developments in hybrids and hybridizing and there is a raffle of a wide variety of new hybrids. This meeting is open to everyone, GHA members and non-members alike.
