Achimenes ‘Carol Ann’

Achimenes ‘Carol Ann’, 2019, IR191467, hybridized by Carol Ann Bonner, Julia Mavity-Hudson, TN. (Ach. ‘Apple Cider’ open pollination). Cross made 2015, seeds planted 2016, first flowered 2016. Reproducible only vegetatively. Erect habit, stem 30 cm length. Leaves very dark red, 78 mm long, 30 mm wide, 13 mm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, crenate margin and acuminate tip. Calyx split, reddish green, 17 mm long. Pedicel 26mm long with 1 flower per axil. Corolla salverform, 38 mm long, 32 mm wide, orange red.
