Primulina ‘Blue Cherry Blossom’

Primulina ‘Blue Cherry Blossom’, 2022, IR221822, hybridized by Dingjiao Lan, Laibin, Guangxi, China. (P. spadiciformis complex x  P. spadiciformis complex). Cross made 10.20.2020, seeds planted 12.15.2020, first flowering 10.12.2022. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 9-11 cm long, 4-6.2 cm wide, 3.7-5.6 cm petiole, elliptic, acute tip, cuneate base, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, greyish green, 4-6 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.2-3.6 cm, 6-9 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.1-3.4 cm long, 1.1-1.3 cm wide, bluish purple. Petal edges are notched like cherry blossoms. This hybrid grows best in shady conditions, cannot tolerate direct sunlight, temperature range is 0-35℃.
