Primulina ‘CW’s Asterism Dream’

Primulina ‘CW’s Asterism Dream’, 2023, IR231846, hybridized by Wei-Chuen Chou, Yi-Gang Wei, Fang Wen; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. diffusa x P. oriola (sp. nov.)). Cross made 09.09.2019, seeds planted 12.23.2019, first flowering 10.06.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, ca.4 cm long, ca. 2.8 cm wide, ca. 2 cm petiole, with obvious veins, thick, fleshy, glabrous both surfaces, ovate to orbicular with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, smooth. Calyx split, green, ca. 7 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 2 cm, ca. 4 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3 cm long, 1.5-1.8 cm wide, pale yellow. Prefers brightly scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not overfertilize and overwater.
