Primulina ‘GCCC’s Orange Magic’

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Orange Magic’, 2021, IR211667, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. leprosa x P. longgangensis). Cross made 10.31.2017, seeds planted 03.01.2018, first flowering 10.08.2019. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 1-2 cm or longer. Leaves dark green, usually changing purplish green, abaxial surface purplish red, 10-15 cm long, 4.5-6.5 cm wide, 2-4 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, smooth. Calyx split, green with lobes apex pale purple, ca. 10 mm. Length of the pedicel 2-2.5 cm, 8-16 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4-4.5 cm long, 2-2.5 cm wide, corolla lobes orange with dark orange/purple veins, tube pink. Medium plant size. Prefers bright scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); don’t overfertilize and overwater.
