Primulina ‘GCCC’s Whitish Pouch’
Primulina ‘GCCC’s Whitish Pouch’, 2021, IR211643, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou, Bo Pan; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. carinata x self) mutated seedling selection. First flowering 06.29.2019. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 2-4 cm. Leaves yellowish green, thick, fleshy, both surfaces glabrous, 3-5 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, 5-7 cm petiole, orbicular with cordate to oblique base, acute tip, entire margin, smooth. Calyx split, pale green, ca. 3 mm. Length of the pedicel 2-3.5 cm, 4 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 2.5 cm long, 1.8-2.2 cm wide, white with purple, yellow and brownish-purple stripes. This mutant can be easily distinguished from its wild type by the whitish corolla, and hairy peduncles. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater.
