Primulina ‘Light Dance’

Primulina ‘Light Dance’, 2021, IR211623, hybridized by Dayan Tao, Haixia Yan, Jianbo Rong, Shuming Luo; Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. macrorhiza x P. pungentisepala). Cross made 03.07.2018, seeds planted 04.23.2018, first flowering 02.11.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 7.4-11.2 cm long, 5.2-7.2 cm wide, 2.9-6.2 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, undulate margin, hairy. Calyx split, its apex is light brown and the base is green, 1.1-1.4 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.2-2.8 cm, 6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 5.4-5.7 cm long x 1.3-1.5 cm wide, bluish purple. Requires a loose, well aerated but moisture-retentive cultivating medium.
