Primulina ‘Rainforest’

Primulina ‘Rainforest’, 2021, IR211601, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Qian Song, Dayan Tao, Shuming Luo, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. atropurpurea x P. medica). Cross made 04.04.2019, seeds planted 05.07.2019, first flowering 03.02.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 8.2-9.9 cm long, 6.0-6.5 cm wide, 1.7-3.6 cm petiole, elliptic to ovate, with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light brown, 0.6-0.7 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.0-1.9 cm, 4 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.2-4.3 cm long x 1.2-1.3 cm wide, light purple. Easy cultivation. The has no particular cultivation conditions requirements. Needs bright scattered light. Avoid waterlogging.
