Primulina ‘Shine’

Primulina ‘Shine’, 2021, IR211602, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Dayan Tao, Shikai Guan, Qian Song, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. guizhongensis x P. spinulosa). Cross made 08.27.2019, seeds planted 10.31.2019, first flowering 03.20.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 5.7-7.0 cm long, 2.2-2.5 cm wide, 2.4-3.1 cm petiole, linear, with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 0.3-0.5 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.0-1.6 cm, 4-6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2.8-3.3 cm long x 1.1-1.2 cm wide, purple. The potting medium must be loose. Needs bright light. It does not tolerate standing in water.
