Primulina ‘Suya’

Primulina ‘Suya’, 2021, IR211606, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Jinye Zhou, Dayan Tao, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. medica x P. lungzhouensis). Cross made 04.05.2019, seeds planted 05.07.2019, first flowering 03.07.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 10.1-13.6 cm long, 9.8-11.5 cm wide, 2.9-5.3 cm petiole, elliptic, with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light yellow, 0.9-1.2 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.7-2.7 cm, 7-10 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.6-5.0 cm long x 1.3-1.4 cm wide, pink purple. The plants require strong but indirect light, and high air humidity. They will not withstand waterlogging.
