Primulina ‘Zhou’s Muscular South Guy’

Primulina ‘Zhou’s Muscular South Guy’, 2021, IR211663, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou, Yi Huang; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. wentsaii x P. sinovietnamica). Natural hybrid from the wild, leaf cutting planted 12.07.2018, first flowering 08.11.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 1-2 cm or longer. Leaves dark green, full of pale green to white pubescences, 5-7 cm or longer, 1.0-1.6 cm wide, subpetiolate, linear with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, pale green to green, 4-5 mm. Length of the pedicel 0.8-1.3 cm, 6-10 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2-2.5 cm long, ca. 1.5 cm wide, pinkish purple, corolla throat and inside with a brownish yellow plaque and two yellow stripes. Medium plant size. Prefers bright scattered natural light but can stand strong sunlight; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); don’t overfertilize and overwater.
