Primulina ‘Zixia Fairy’

Primulina ‘Zixia Fairy’, 2021, IR211636, hybridized by Yuyang Lei, Haixia Yan, Qian Song, Kai Li, Shikai Guan; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. sinovietnamica x P. hochiensis). Cross made 11.24.2020, seeds planted 01.07.2021, first flowering 08.15.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 3.6-5.0 cm long, 2.0-2.7 cm wide, 2.0-2.3 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 0.4-0.6 cm. Length of the pedicel 2.0-2.1 cm, 2-4 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 1.5-1.9 cm long x 1.8-1.9 cm wide, purple. The plants require shady conditions. They grow fast and are prone to lateral buds.
