xPrimucodon ‘Tengwang Pavillion’

xPrimucodon ‘Tengwang Pavillion’, 2021, IR211638, hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Gesneriad Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (Primulina sinovietnamica  x  Petrocodon hechiensis). Cross made 07.15.2017, seeds planted 11.22.2017, first flowering 05.12.2019. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, thick chartaceous, slightly fleshy, short pubescent both surfaces, distinctive veins, 6-8 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, 5-8 cm petiole, orbicular with cuneate base, rounded tip, undulate-serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 6-8 mm. Length of the pedicel 1-2 cm, 10 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 1.7-2 cm long, ca. 2 cm wide, brightly violet to purple. Prefers brightly scattered natural or artificial lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater.
