Sinningia ‘Bud’s Calpurnia’

Sinningia Bud’s Calpurnia’, 2018, IR181407, hybridized by Brandon W. Erikson, NE.  (S. ‘Bud’s Lace Curtain’’x S. ‘Bud’s Pompeii Princess’). Cross made 12.21.2016, planted 01.23.2016, and first flowered 04.30.2016.  Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Miniature to compact growth habit, stem length 4-8 cm. Leaves dark green with a red back, 6-8 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, with 1 cm petiole, orbicular with cordate base, crenate margin and rounded tip, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, green, 5 mm long. Pedicel 4-5 cm with 3-5 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform 4-5 cm long x 2.5-3 cm wide, light pink  with a darker blushed throat, spotted, with yellow deep in a throat. Compact growth with short internodes, matures quickly, easily propagated. Sometimes spontaneously forms tubers at nodes along the stem length.
