Sinningia ‘Cindy’

Sinningia ‘Cindy’, 2011, IR111165, Thomas Talpey, NH. (S. concinna x S. eumorpha). Cross made and planted 1965, first flowered 1966. Sterile and reproducible only vegetatively. Tuberous, compact rosette. Leaves green/bronze, 1.5-2 in. long x 1-1.5 in. wide with 0.5-1 in. petiole, ovate with crenate margin, acute tip and cordate base. Calyx split, green, 0.25 in. long. Pedicel 2 in. long, 1 flower per leaf axil. Corolla salverform, 1-1.5 in. long x 0.5 in. wide, upper lobes bright purple, lower petals white with deep purple spots in regular lines exte3nding into the throat.
