Streptocarpus ‘Deanie’s Sweet Marie’

Streptocarpus ’Deanie’s Sweet Marie’. 2004 IR04892, E. Underhill, CAN. (‘Bristol’s Tie Dyed’ x ‘Madonna’).  Cross made June 30, 2000, planted Aug. 25, 2000 and first flowered Apr. 27, 2001. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Compact rosette. Leaves medium green, 6 in. long x 3 in. wide, ovate with undulate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx split, medium green 1.4 in. long, 8-10 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform, 2 1/8 in. long x 2 1/8 in. wide, white with red veining on three lower petals. Flowers are scented of honey, most strongly at night. Available from hybridizer.
