Achimenes ‘SRG’s Vie en Bleu’

Achimenes ‘SRG’s Vie en Bleu’, 2022, IR221780, hybridized by Serge Saliba, Bucharest, Romania. (A. seedling HS-011-2009 x A. ‘India’). Cross made 05.2010, seeds planted 02.2011, first flowering 07.2011. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Erect to trailing habit, stem length 20 cm. Leaves green, 4 cm long, 4 cm wide, 2 cm petiole, ovate, acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin. Calyx split to leafy, green, length 4 mm, length of the pedicel 2 cm, 2 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, double, 3 cm long, 6.5 cm wide, true blue. Plant needs to be staked to prevent stems from breaking due to the heavy bloom weight.
