Primulina ‘Four Seasons’
Primulina ‘Four Seasons’, 2020, IR201538, registered by Le Luo, Dong He, Xiaoyan Yao, Qixiang Zhang, Yueya Li, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing, China. (Mutation of P. ronganensis). Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette. Leaves green, white puberulent to pilose, 5.0-9.5 cm long, 2-4.2 cm wide, 2-5 cm petiole, elliptic, with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, purplish green 0.9-1.5 cm. Length of the pedicel 0.2-0.37 cm, 4-9 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2-2.6 cm long x 0.8-1.0 cm wide, mauve with yellow dots on the inner surface of the corolla. This cultivar obtained as a result of a cutting propagation of Primulina ronganensis, and the traits are stable. The flowering period lasts all year with the heavy bloom from June to August. Excellent resistance to high temperatures of 28-33℃ and strong light environment. Soft emerald rosette, inconspicuous scapes and constant very attractive blooming makes it very suitable for potted culture.
