Primulina ‘GCCC’s Jade Bell’
Primulina ‘GCCC’s Jade Bell’, 2021, IR211641, hybridized by Rui-Feng Li, Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei; College of Tourism and Landscape Architecture, Guilin University of Technology; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. lutea x P. hiepii). Cross made 07.31.2019, seeds planted 12.12.2019, first flowering 05.22.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, thick, looking coriaceous but fragile, puberulent both surfaces, 8-12 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, 4-5 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, yellowish green, 5-8 mm. Length of the pedicel 16-20 mm, 20 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2-3 cm long, 0.8-1.5 cm wide, yellowish white to very pale yellow. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater.
