Primulina ‘GCCC’s Xin Ya’
Primulina ‘GCCC’s Xin Ya’, 2021, IR211642, hybridized by Zi-Meng Yang, Yi-Gang Wei; College of Tourism and Landscape Architecture, Guilin University of Technology; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. heterocroa x P. drakei). Cross made 06.09.2019, seeds planted 09.23.2019, first flowering 07.17.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 5-10 cm. Leaves green, veins obvious, thick, fleshy, pubescent both surfaces, ca. 15 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, 2-5 cm petiole, linear to elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, purplish brown, ca. 0.8 cm. Length of the pedicel ca. 3.3 cm, 6 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 5 cm long, 1.8-2.3 cm wide, purplish red to purple. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater.
