Primulina ‘Gorgeous’

Primulina ‘Gorgeous’, 2020, IR201543, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Dayan Tao, Jinye Zhou, Shuming Luo, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. dryas x P. spadiciformis). Cross made 08.16.2019, seeds planted 09.23.2019, first flowering 10.29.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 6.3-8.8 cm long, 4.3-6.1 cm wide, 1.5-4.0 cm petiole, ovate, with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light green, 0.8-0.9 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.1-1.3 cm, 1-2 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.9-4.2 cm long x 1.4-1.5 cm wide, purple. The plants are intolerant to waterlogged conditions and low temperatures. They prefer abundant sunlight and loose soil.
