Primulina ‘Springtime’

Primulina ‘Springtime’, 2021, IR211605, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Jinye Zhou, Dayan Tao, Shuming Luo, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. linearifolia x P. gueilinensis). Cross made 02.18.2020, seeds planted 04.16.2020, first flowering 03.07.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 6.1-8.4 cm long, 3.2-4.1 cm wide, 0.4-1.7 cm petiole, elliptic, with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light green, 0.5-0.7 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.4-2.7 cm, 4 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.7-4.6 cm long x 0.9-1.4 cm wide, purplish. Easily cultivated. Needs sufficient light and water supply (avoid waterlogging).
