Primulina ‘Zhou’s Golden Wave’
Primulina ‘Zhou’s Golden Wave’, 2021, IR211647, hybridized by Fang Wen, Wei-Chuen Chou; Guangxi Institute of Botany; Guilin, China. (P. tribracteata (‘alba’ form) x P. heterochroa). Cross made 04.21.2019, seeds planted 11.11.2019, first flowering 06.17.2020. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem ca. 1.5 cm. Leaves green slightly fleshy, both surfaces sparsely pubescent, ca.12 cm or longer, 8-9.5 cm wide, 4-6 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute to rounded tip, indistinct crenate margin, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, brownish green, ca. 1 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2 cm, usually 3-6, sometimes more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3.5 cm long, ca. 2.5 cm wide, golden yellow with purplish lines in corolla inside. Large size plant. Prefers brightly scattered light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not over-fertilize and overwater, sensitive to cold.
