Primulina ‘Flowers in Winter’, 2021, IR211578, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Qian Song, Shuming Luo, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. spinulosaP. macrorhiza). Cross made 09.30.2019, seeds planted 12.20.2019, first flowering 01.15.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 4.8-6.2 cm long, 2.0-2.4 cm wide, 0.7-1.5 cm petiole, linear with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, light green, 0.3-0.4 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.7-2.0 cm, 2 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.1-3.3 cm long x 1.2-1.5 cm wide, light blue-purple. The flowering period is from December to January. The cultivation is simple. It likes bright light, able to withstand certain strong light. It needs a loose and breathable mix. Does not tolerate waterlogged conditions.
