Primulina ‘Generous’

Primulina ‘Generous’, 2021, IR211622, hybridized by Dayan Tao, Haixia Yan, Shikai Guan, Qian Song; Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. xiziae  x  P. villosissima). Cross made 04.17.2019, seeds planted 05.15.2019, first flowering 02.28.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 11.9-14.3 cm long, 7.5-11.5 cm wide, 4.7-6.7 cm petiole, elliptic with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, brown, 0.9-1.2 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2.8 cm, 18 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.6-4.9 cm long x 1.4-1.8 cm wide, purplish. Flowering period: February to March. Requires an abundant water supply and bright scattered sunlight.
