Primulina ‘SCBG Purple Spirit’, 2021, IR211586, hybridized by Ning Zu-lin, Li Dong-mei, Chen Ling, South China Botanical Garden, Guangzhou, China. (P. dryas x P. lijiangensis). Cross made 08.22.2013, seeds planted 01.20.2014, first flowering 07.24.2015. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves moderate yellowish green, 10-15 cm long, 6.8-11.5 cm wide, 3-10 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, brown, 1.2-1.5 cm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-3 cm, 9-13 flowers per cyme with 2-3 branches, up to 30-50 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.0-3.3 cm long, 2.2×2.5 cm wide, purplish red with deep purple stripes in a throat and deep purple filaments. It prefers a good natural light and moist substrate in the temperature range of 0-35℃.
