Achimenes ‘SRG’s Nocturne’

Achimenes ‘SRG’s Nocturne’ 2022, IR221800, hybridized by Serge Saliba, Bucharest, Romania. (A. ‘SRG’s Lady In Black’ x A. HS-121-2009). Cross made 04.2010, seeds planted 01.2011, first flowering 06.2011. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Trailing habit, stem length 25 cm. Leaves green, 4 cm long, 3 cm wide, 2 cm petiole, ovate, acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin. Calyx split, green, length 4 mm, length of the pedicel 1.5 cm, 3 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, double, 3 cm long, 4 cm wide, dark red. Blossoms with a rare very dark red color. A trailing hybrid with thin stems which is ideal for hanging baskets.
